A WORD FROM YOUR OPTOMETRIST
The Eye, the organ of sight but also the lamp of the body and windows of our soul. Our eyes must be one of our most treasured, valuable and beautiful organs and features of our body.
That’s why a busy schedule should never prevent us from having regular eye tests, especially if we consider that many of our most common eye diseases , in the early stages, do not have symptoms.
Today screens are omnipresent. They are in our smartphones, tablets, laptops and other handheld devices. While there is a myriad of different conditions our eyes can develop over time, eye strain – when your eyes get tired from intense use – is something we can actually prevent. In fact ,approximately 50 to 90 percent of people who work on a computer suffer from what we call computer vision syndrome.Researchers suggest up to 10 million eye doctor visits per year are the result of computer related vision issues.
Our vision is invaluable and we should do our very best to preserve it for as long as humanly possible.
Our frame collection caters for everyone .We have a large range of designer brands but also have excellent and affordable package deals.

We welcome the whole family , from the grandparents to your precious little ones. Most adults should have their eyes tested once every two years and those over sixty five will be wise to have it done once every year especially if there is family history of eye disease or problem. A typical age for children to have their eyes tested is 3-5 years ,before they go to school but definitely sooner should you suspect anything like an eye turning in or out or if there is family history of eye problems.
We look forward to seeing you soon and will be more than happy to assist you in looking after your eye sight and to show you the latest in frame choices.
For You are the Life, the Way and the Truth. You are love’s great height. You are deep and wide. A consuming fire! Father God, may You be lifted high , as our kingdoms fall.
Truth is higher than the fact!!

Optometrist Illze Fourie
I Qualified in 1998 at RAU, now the University of Johannesburg. Shortly after qualifying I left for England with the prospect of gaining some life and professional experience. I subsequently worked as Locum Optometrist in various different types of practices across the UK for 11 years. During my last 3 years in the UK I got involved with Domiciliary Optometry where I was testing patients with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Learning difficulty patients (A very rewarding time of my life). I enjoy testing children’s eyes and have many years experience in Cycloplegic refraction (mostly done on children with the aim of getting a more accurate assessment of their prescription). I have also been involved with Diabetic Screenings / Monitoring of patients. I returned to SA in December 2010 and must confess there is no better place than Home!! I look forward to meeting you and will always do my utmost in providing the best eye care possible.
Optical Assistant, Carmen Cooper
After moving to Cape Town 22 years ago from Johannesburg, I have come to love my new home, even though it rains in winter which I still can’t seem to get used to. This new environment came with it’s challenges, but I was determined to make the best of it. Being a Christian has helped in that regard and so many others. I have always lived my life with the promise of the verse in Proverbs 3:5-6, that the Lord will direct my path, and I have not regretted it yet!! I have been working in the optical industry for 20 years, and with all the knowledge and experience gained it is an honor and privilege to work in an industry that I can serve others. This unique opportunity to be of service to someone else in need, and the Lord using me at the same time is humbling. I love what I do, and the joy of helping others makes my day worth it. When it is time to go home, I am greeted by my family of 3 beautiful girls and an incredible husband of 19 years. They are my life and I am grateful and blessed to have them.
